Elizabeth Thompson is the 16 year old daughter of Mary & Ed Splechter & Dustin & Pam Thompson. She is a Junior at Chanute Highschool & is a Chanute native. Liz is competing this year with her mare Frosty. Liz is a very active member of her FFA chapter & has learned how to weld. She plays right field for the Chanute blue Comets Highschool Softball team & helps manage the Comets Cross Country team. Liz also enjoys Trap Shooting, 4-H, Dance, Photography, spending time with family & competing in as many competitions with her FFA Vet science team as possible. In the future Liz plans to attend Kansas State University & major in Equine Science & veterinarian medicine so she can become an Equine Veterinarian. When asked why she decided to run for 2022 Chanute Bit & Spur Saddle Club Rodeo Queen Liz replied “ I wanted to help my friends they needed more people in the competition to make it work and I felt like being a part of this competition with my friends would be fun and exciting for all of us to do together”

Joni is the 18 year old daughter of Chad & lanae Graham & is a senior at Chanute High School. Joni is Competing on her leased horse Cherrokee and mule Slim. Joni is a member of Chanute FFA, Animal Science, she is also a gold & silver honor role which refers to her 3.0 or higher GPA. Joni is a year long employee at Cleaver Farm & Home & enjoys playing basketball in her free time. In the future Joni Joni plans to graduate early & go to Virginia for an internship at Polyface Farms. When asked why she decided to run for 2022 Chanute Bit & Spur Saddle Club Rodeo Queen she said "I wanted to try something new while building my friendships with the other contestants."




Maggie Hood is the 14 year old daughter of Victor & Janalin Hood. She is homeschooled here in Chanute, Ks. Maggie is competing this year with her gelding Sterling. Maggie is the secretary of her local 4-H club & rides under the instruction of Knapp Performance Horses. Maggie says her biggest passions are “ western fashion/modeling & learning as much about riding, roping, & training horses as she can.” Maggie also enjoys playing fiddle, singing, leather tooling, & reading classic books. In the future Maggie hopes to obtain her bachelors in Ag. marketing & journalism & then pursue becoming a Down Under Method ambassador. Maggie says “ I hope to use my education & passion for sharing & teaching to give back by offering riding lessons & teaching the next generation of Rodeo Queens.” When asked why she ran for 2022 Chanute Rodeo Queen Maggie said “I have a God-lit fire to promote & Market the western lifestyle & rodeo heritage. I am outgoing, love public speaking & want to create a ripple effect of inspiration to all whom I meet. If I were to be the 2022 Bit & Spur Rodeo Queen I would use the Experience gained to pave the path towards my future rodeo queening goals which include reigning as Miss Rodeo Kansas.”
